If you have recently dined at a good restaurant in Javea or nearby, please write your reviews and remarks here.

We have just visited a new restaurant in Javea, opposite the well known Mesena restaurant, telephone 96 579 3764, which has good food and great service.

The new Bon Amb, visited in September, 2011. It was a real disappointing night, very expensive food that wasn’t worth the prices asked. I don’t like to report on negative venue’s, as they have spent a lot of money on the property and the gardens. They just have not got the food right, which is why we went there after all, a real shame.

We were tempted to try it for a second time, in April 2012.

Bon Amb is expensive, and the portions are small, but the presentation, the flavours, the ambience and service are all outstanding. There is an excellent wine cellar.

They have set out to make this a top class venue, and they have so far succeeded. It will not appeal to everybody’s palate or their wallet.

Hi Sue, Las Brisas in Javea is a very good restaurant, I agree. They have a special Friday menu with an entertaining quiz, if you are into that type of afternoon. Tel: 96 579 47 09. Book early for their Xmas and New Year events. Regards, Steve

fter living in Spain for 6 years I do miss typical english cooking and also miss those English sandwich bars that are quick tasteful with bread that ?does not rip your mouth open? Well I despair no more after visiting Los Delfines Tea Rooms in the Javea Port Market on the Dolphin roundabout. Johann will make you feel welcome with her sensibly priced home made food such as honey roast ham, stews, rice pudding, lemon drizzle cake, scones, etc The food is served from an open kitchen and to see such cleanliness was a real vote of confidence. Try it you won?t be dissapointed.

A really good value restaurant if you want something better than the basic menu del dia fare. The Friday quiz is thoroughly entertaining and great fun. Brush up on your general knowledge though as Mark, the host, is a serious source of little known facts!

If you love shellfish you’ll love Aitaynah just off Marquis de Campo in Denia. The prawns are without doubt the best in the area, in fact Chimo never buys or sells anything frozen all of his produce comes directly from the fish market in Denia everyday. It is very unlikely that you will find any British in this bar as it is a well kept Spanish secret, but the mussels, prawns, cockels and fish is a delight. The bar is not fancy but the food is the best.

We have visited Javea 3 times and always go back to Scallops, however Charlies bar and grill (above Scallops) provides excellent food, the Cajun Chicken was delicious. Also, a very friendly service is provided. We always needed a table for 10 and it was no trouble. Also, I’d like to mention the English Bakery which does a lovely proper breakfast, just like home. I love Javea and will kep going back!!
