Paris, Mauritius, Paris

Euphony Communications offer an all-expenses paid holiday incentive every year, to reward their consultants for their hard work. Euphony paid for over 600 consultants and their family members to go on a five star, luxury holiday on the tropical island of Mauritius, in September 2007.

Our holiday started on the 12th September, 2007.
Valencia – Paris -Mauritius – Paris – Valencia.

We started off in Paris. It is a wonderful city, we explored it by boat, train, bus, the underground and by foot. We walked half way up the Eiffel tower, but the queue was too long to wait for a lift to the top. So we didn’t see the view from the very top, which was a pity, but it was still fantastic from half way up. We did meet Tim & Maria from Tenerife in the restaurant half way up the tower, which was a coincidence, as they are also Euphony consultants and they were going on our same holiday to Mauritius.

Welcome breakfast, in front of our beach side bungalow apartments.

Two nights in Paris, then an 11 hour flight to Mauritius arriving at 06.00h, when I am not at my best! We were given a warm welcome and given fresh flower necklaces. At our hotel we were greeted by dancing girls, refreshments and breakfast. The bungalow apartments were only 200 metres from the white sandy beach and deep blue Indian Ocean. Euphony had very kindly arranged for our rooms to be available on our arrival, so we could catch up on our sleep after the long flight. Waking up refreshed and excited to see our hotel, we explored the 5 kilometre hotel beaches.

From then on in it was fun, food, watersports, food, jeep rides, food, snorkling, food, dancing, catamarans and did I mention food?

Busy market in nearby village, Flaq.

Mauritius is situated off the south east coast of South Africa, in the India Ocean and was first discovered by the Dutch in the 16th century. The French occupied the island for a few years then along came the British, who handed the island over to it’s people in 1964. The population consists of 50% Hindu, 20% Creole and the remaining are French, Dutch and the very rich sugar plant owners. The currency is the Rupee and the average wage for the islanders is 5-6,000 rupees per month, around 180 euros.

The island capital, Port Louis and some home grown pineapples!

Coloured soil, a natural phenomenon.

A strange sign on toilet door, on the catamaran. What must it mean?

Captain and crew of our catamaran!

I’ve found one!! It’s a Dodo!! Here’s one we bbq’d earlier, fortunately we found the last one!

Giles Redpath, CEO of Euphony Communications…. and team ….. enjoying the atmosphere during our lunch with over 600 consultants and their families. Our lunch was in fantastic location next to the beach, under a huge marquee, with live music and entertainment, great food and great fun.

We would like to say a huge “thank you” to Giles Redpath and Euphony Communications, for organising such a fantastic holiday for over 600 people. All consultants have the opportunity to qualify for an all expenses paid five star holiday. We are looking forward to receiving confirmation of next year’s holiday incentive!
