Leaving Javea at 10.30h we drove north to the city of Valencia. The 1hour 10 minute drive took us to the under ground parking of the science museum. While walking the stairs to ground level the sight that takes your breath away are the buildings that bear down on you. The world famous futuristic City of Arts and Sciences is an unbelievable thing to see. It is one of the most incredible sights of Valencia. the City also holds the interactive science museum, the biggest marine wildlife park in Europe and an IMAX cinema.
After a nice cup of Cafe con leche, we boarded a red open top bus, the best way to see any city in Spain. You pay around 8 euros per person and the ticket is valid for 24 hours, you can hop on and hop off, to your hearts delight.
This sight seeing business is very energy sapping, so we settled for a spot of lunch in one of the many tapas bars in Valencia. We ate veggie paella, scrambled eggs, spagetties, stews and sword fish, lovely home cooked food.
Soon we were on the move, walking in the city of Valencia is easy, shopping at Corte Ingles, a real expensive shopping experience. Time for some churros and a cup of coffee or perphaps a milk shake?
Valencia has its traditional fallas fiesta every March, it is a spetacular event with mascleta fire works booming at 14.00h each day and the festival, internationally known, is unique to Valencia and so special and oddly strange, that your visit will be incomplete without having a taste of it. Enjoy!
