I recently discovered a beautiful property in Javea while searching for a villa with my clients Brian and Dorothy Stewert. It was a six-year old property built in the style of a 150 year-old finca. This villa had the benefits of a truly traditional Spanish style and charm, yet it was constructed with modern day materials. I have not seen this type of property before in the Javea area and it was a wonderful experience to roam around this high-ceiling villa with a minstrel gallery and thick stonewalls. The entire property was set against the quiet back drop of El Montgo mountain, enjoying the wide open views from Javea bay to the mountains of Val de Ebo. The many good characteristics of this “old” Javea finca were marred slightly by the non-existence of a pool or mature garden. Also, the rocks at the rear of the property needed a large digger to spend a week there, making space for a car. This would put a lot of buyers off the property, but with 100.000 euros to finish the project, this 699.000 euro finca would be worth well over 1.000.000 euros and the owners would own a truly unique villa.
